Talk about your daily routine - IELTS Speaking Part 1
What is the busiest part of the day for you?
As I am an early riser so I frequently wake up at 4 am to feel more energetic. Thanks to it, I can complete many activities within quite a short time. Believe it or not, in just roughly 2 hours, I can go to the bathroom, head to the gym, prepare for my breakfast, listen to podcasts and the list goes on and on...
What part of your day do you like best?
Hands down it's the evening. After a hard day at work with a stuffed calendar of a 9-5ver like me, I would say the time after work is extremely precious for me to recharge my batteries and reflect my day as well.
Do you usually have the same routine every day?
Certainly. To be perfectly honest, I am a real creature of habit as I strongly believe repeating good same habits and activities on a daily basis is the best way to success. Of course there are some ad hoc problems sometimes, but I quickly get back to my normal schedule once I get things done.
What is your daily routine?
As I said earlier, I'm an early raiser and I get up at the crack of dawn every day to complete all of my morning activity list. After that, I work until 5 pm and teach English classes from 6:30pm-9:30pm. I call it a day around 10pm and repeat the circle at 4am the day after.
Have you ever changed your routine?
Life is full of unexpected things so when hardship comes, it tends to affect my daily practices. For example, I got Covid about 1 month ago and suffered from insomnia for about a week. It goes without saying that I failed to maintain my 4am-10pm sleep span during that time and had had to go with the flow until I was fully recovered.
Do you think it is important to have a daily routine?
It is indeed of paramount importance. A great daily routine will help you a ton in deciding what to do to start your day and what should be the next moves. Without a good daily routine, you are likely to end up being clueless of what to go first in the morning and that will kill your overall productivity.
What would you like to change in your daily routine?
To be upfront, I'm quite pleased with my own daily schedule now as I have been making constant improvements on that list to make the most of my day. However, as greedy as it sounds, I wish I had more than 24 hours per day to learn and develop myself even more.

Sample
I am currently a college student, specifically a sophomore so my daily life mostly surrounds schoolwork.
In the morning, I usually wake up around 8am, and the first thing I often do in the morning is to revise my homework before school time. After a few hours of studying, I often go outside to have some fresh air and might hit the gym if I feel like it. Some exercises like that actually chill out my mind and it works best for me to release stress. After some exercises, I go back home and make myself some food for lunchtime before going to school until 5pm. During school break, I usually have some chit-chat with my friends to recharge my batteries after a long hours of study.
After that, I come home and make myself some food and relax with some books for the rest of the day. I would say my daily routine isn’t that interesting but it is a routine that I have been following for years since my first year in college.
Speaking of my daily routine, I would say I prefer the night over other times in the day because you know, I do not like the stressful and nerve-racking hours of schoolwork, nor the time during the morning while I have to stay awake to revise my homework. Nighttime is the best time for me, because after a long day of me being up to my ears in schoolwork, it’s good to sit back and relax while doing my hobbies.

Do you think having a structured daily routine is important?
Absolutely! Having a structured routine provides a sense of stability and organization in our daily lives. It helps us prioritize important tasks, manage time effectively, and reduce decision fatigue. Knowing what to expect throughout the day allows us to focus on the present activity without constantly worrying about what's next. This can be especially helpful for students or those with demanding jobs. However, a routine shouldn't be too rigid. It's important to have the flexibility to accommodate unexpected events or simply take a break when needed.

Yes, I agree that morning routines can significantly influence how the rest of the day unfolds. Starting the day with positive habits like meditation, exercise, or a nutritious breakfast can boost energy levels and enhance mood. A well-planned morning routine can also set the pace for productivity and help prioritize tasks effectively.
